Bob Hansson
Futureperfect Thursday July 28th 20:00
Bob H
ansson was born on a ferry between Helsingborg and Helsingör and was brought to land in a bread bin. He grew up on land though. His debut as a poet and writer was in 1998 with “Heja Världen!” which earned national acclaim. Since then he has become one of Swedens most loved poets and writers with books like “Gunnar”, “Kärlek, hur fan gör man?” and ”Vips så blev det liv!”.
Bob is a very musical writer and has cooperated with acts like Thåström, Moder Jords Massiva, Olle Ljungström and many more. He is often using music to enhance the words and his message to the audience.
At Futureperfect he will collaborate with musician and producer Kalle Bäccman (Moder Jords Massiva, et al.), a project woven around Bobs latest book “Vips så blev det liv”. Here he will be dealing with topics such as life in general – like how remarkable it is that we all are here on this planet – and his own life in particular. The music is being improvised around Bob’s texts.
Bob Hansson is Sweden’s first world champion in poetry slam.
ASS
Futureperfect Saturday July 30th 15:00
After half a decade of living room recordings whilst backing up the Swedish top list artists, versatile punk rocker and instrumentalist Andreas Söderström has made his debut as a solo artist under the name Ass.
It´s a mainly instrumental folktronic journey into a soundscape of multilayers performed entirely by himself. Selftutored amongst the jungle of strings in his father’s bouzouki factory, Andreas is a familiar bearded face in the Swedish alternative music scene.
Over the past years Andreas has played bass with multi-awarded pop princess Jenny Wilson, trumpet and lapsteel with the international renowned electronica project Tape, harmonium, key harp and guitar with the folk orchestras Barr, Pallin, Blood Music and Taken By Trees, the latest incarnation of former Concretes singer Victoria Bergsman. He’s also been cooperating with Titiyo and Goran Kajfes which we’ll see more of at Futureperfect.
Siri Karlsson
Futureperfect Saturday July 30th 19:00
Behind the every day name Siri Karlsson we find a duo consisting of Maria Arnqvist and Cecilia Österholm. Together they create a new kind of folk music. With roots in old Swedish traditions, mixing sounds from other continents adding a bit of psychedelica and swedish progg – something new and exiting is created.
Goran Kajfes
Futureperfect Friday July 29th 24:00
Goran Kajfes is of Croatian heritage, grown up in Sweden in a family of musicians and artists. He is, since many years, an obvious authority at the very core in the Swedish music scene. A sought after session player, touring musician, arranger and producer.
Goran has performed with José Gonzales, Stina Nordenstam, Eagle-Eye Cherry, Lester Bowie, The Soundrack of our Lives and many many others. He´s written music to several movies and produced a number of albums including ”Clint” by Oddjob that was named Jazz Album of the Year by Sunday Times in the UK 2010.
His music mixes a mulitude of influences into an appealing and spicy brew that has established him as being at the forefront of crossover visionary jazz. Goran is first and foremost a trumpeter. A musician that´s always looking for novelty and new challenges, always exploring. His latest album, X/Y relaeased in February 2011 is the result of a quite long process in search of artistic identity.
Parken
Futureperfect Saturday July 30th 20:00
Parken, or Pelle Lindroth, has released the much acclaimed albums “Länge leve Parken” and “Framtiden var här”.
Introspective lyrics to dissolute music with equal parts of synthesizers and guitars is one way of describing Parken and songs like “Jag har varit vilsen Lisa” and “Åt helvete med himlen” were all over and everywhere during 2009 and 2010 and we doubt that many of you out there missed them – we surely didn’t.
Working on his third album in a studio in Årsta, Stockholm, Parken’s gig at Futureperfect is the only one planned for this summer. No More Lullabies is very proud to be able to present him at the festival.
Asha Ali
Futureperfect Saturday July 30th 16:00
Asha Ali’s music takes aspects from both the indie pop and soul. Her latest album “Hurricane” was released in 2009.
The single with the same name bacame an instant radio favourite. And this winter a gift to all fans eagerly awaiting new material could download “The Beat” from her homepage ashaali.com.
Asha is in the process of co-creating someting that could best be described as art. Together with friends and collegues new pieces emerge and no one knows what the final result will be, but you can be sure it’s going to be something special.

Titiyo
Futureperfect Friday July 29th 21:00
Titiyo has been one of Sweden’s most interesting and influential artists since the debut in the early 1990’s. Simply because she’s got an unmistakable voice that moves you.
Worldwide hits like “Come Along” (produced by Jocke Berg and Peter Svensson) and “Longing for Lullabies” (with Kleerup) as well as more experimental material are some of the reasons why people all over the world has saluted her artistry. After the success with “Come Along” she found herself questioning what the next step would and should be for her. She bought a cheap Casio synth, an Omnicord and an 8-track portable studio and started to work on a completely new sound, mainly at nights in her flat at S:t Eriksplan in Stockholm. With the help of Andreas “ASS” Söderström, Goran Kajfes and some German kraut rock they formed something so peculiar and rare that could, if you have to label it, be described as “kraut soul”. The album Hidden was born.
No More Lullabies are extremely proud to welcome Titiyo and her soulfulness to the heartland of Värmland and the Futureperfect festival. She will perform with Andreas Söderström and Goran Kajfes among others.
Jennie Abrahamson
Futureperfect Friday July 29th 23:00
Jennie Abrahamson comes from northern Sweden but has lived in Stockholm for the last ten years, making her way through the swedish music business. She used to sing in triphop quartet Heed, that released two albums for swedish EMI, and play whatever instrument required in the alt-country/pop band Yukon AK, but in 2006 she decided to go solo.
Swedish Jennie Abrahamson released her third solo album “The sound of your beating heart” this spring. In 2007 she started up How Sweet the Sound, got a distribution deal with Swedish Sony Music and released her solo debut “Lights”. She got a minor breakthrough, some good reviews, a supporting act tour, a single added on national radio stations and a few songs on tv-series and films, but it wasn’t until she released her sophomore album “While the sun’s still up and the sky is bright” in 2009 that things really started happening. The album was praised in Swedish press and the singles were frequently played on radio. Jennie toured on her own but also went on a long tour supporting Ane Brun and met new fans in other countries.
The songs on the the songs on “The sound of your beating heart” evolved as she recorded them on a 4-track application on her cell phone, keeping it strict with melody, rhythms and piano. She wanted to find the strenght of the songs with as few parts as possible. If it sounded ok on a crappy phone, it could probably just get better when recorded “for real”. First single “Hard to come by” was released in January 2011. Immediately added to Swedish national radio P3 and became one of the top teatured songs on the Swedish student radio playlists.
Jennie is one of the loved core people around No More Lullabies. She’s also an ambassador for Fair Trade.
Loney Dear
Futureperfect Saturday July 30th 23:00
Soulful indie folk-and-pop artist Emil Svanängen is the man behind the hugely successful Loney Dear and is one of Sweden’s proudest contributions to the international indie scene in recent years.
Critics har been on their knees while humming the band’s epic poptunes and at the same time the band has gotten almost religious reviews of their liveperformances. Svanängen and his crew are slowly but surely turning the the world into Loney-ists.
Loney Dear has released records on the legendary Subpop label (Nirvana, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Fleetfoxes among others) since 2007. Previously they released everything by themselves and the only way to get hold of Emils music was to buy CD-R:s that he neatly sent you by mail sometimes without covers and now and then with homemade ones. Loney Dear has been touring with among others Andrew Bird and José González.
Read our recent NML piece on Loney Dear here!
Eating Pebble
Futureperfect Thursday July 28th 23:00
Eating Pebble aim to be a great live band with strong hit songs, always improving their show and communicating a solid message.
The package is carefully designed to entertain and move the audience. The sound is modern indie rock’n’roll and energetic pop and influences are The Beatles, The Libertines and Motown classics.
Vera Vinter
Futureperfect Friday July 29th 20:00
Singer songwriter Vera Vinter grew up in the small village Stora Lappträsk in nothern Sweden. This year she made her debut as a solo artist, singing in her mother tounge. The music is sometimes dressed in city sounds but just as often you hear the roar of the rapids and the cranes’ trumpeting. Her single “Du gör mig rädd” is working currently it’s way up the radio charts and Vera Vinter’s debut album will be released in autumn 2011.
Wendy McNeill
Futureperfect Saturday July 30th 21:00
“Every festival offers someone to discover, and for me that was Wendy McNeill, an Edmonton musician whose sharp-edged songs with accordion and guitar seem like dispatches from a post rock cabaret.” That are the words of Robert Everett-Green, The Globe and Mail.
You will probably agree when you listen to the woman from from the Prairies of Canada. Wendy’s songs retain her love of wide open space and the longing that such big skies can generate. She is a fan of ‘underdogs’, ‘strange cats’ and brave hearts. These characters are often the centerpieces of her songs which she creates using looped vocals, accordion, and guitar.
May 25th McNeill released her new album “For the Wolf, a Good Meal”.
Linn Segolson
Futureperfect Friday July 29th 19:00
Singer and songwriter Linn Segolson has for the last ten years been a member of several bands and music constellations, such as Anna Ternheim, Danish Hip Hop collective Nobody Beats the Beats, Promoe and The Solution, touring both Sweden and Europe. The Hip hop–Soul duo Linn & Freddie released ”The Wonderlust EP” in 2004, the album ”Waiting for spring” in 2009, and their second album is on the way to be released in 2012. As a songwriter and vocal arranger Linn has collaborated with many different artists, lately with her friend Salem Al Fakir, co-writing the song ”Split my personality” from his latest album ”Ignore this”.
She is currently working on a solo album. With a background in gospel, jazz and soul those influences can be heard in Linn’s music, but lately her songs have taken a turn towards folk, blues and storytelling. You can find her with a complete band or in smaller settings. At Futureperfect she will keep it as simple as it gets – herself with a guitar.
Jesper Waldersten
Konstnär
Jesper Waldersten is one of Sweden’s most popular illustrators, with numerous international awards in his career, a number of published books and a frequent exhibitor of his art.
With his inimitable style, Waldersten (b. 1969 in Stockholm), creates characteristic images where nothing is obvious, and where imagination is allowed to flow. One is never disappointed of his unpredictable and ingenious political images; instead you laugh at the clever wordplay, the sharp humor, and contemporary commentaries and perhaps are his compassionate accuracy in precisely the confidence in the pen, the word and the hand self-expressive power. His work clearly reveals his development from keen satirist to individualist and expressive artist. He has realized several murals for public and private clients, and been awarded two of Sweden’s top art grants. Music has always been the inspiration, and relations – or the lack of it – between people, the core in his work. Obviously he has been drawing and painting all his life. He is based in Stockholm and lives in Mariefred, Sweden.
Knut Larsson
Serien Triton visades i Tv-programmet Kobra 2009.
-Roy Andersson
